For the year to come, lots of health and happiness, and most important: tons of love and laughter!
Okay, and plenty of Jack and Ianto and John and Gareth to look forward to!!!
*hugs you*
The screencap is from the talented Mr.
Yeah, I am still alive. And kicking quite a bit, too -- that is, most of the time I get kicked nowadys, by the so-called "black chicken" (see "Love at First Bite":-), otherwise known as "muses".
It's a wonderful experience to write again... and more than drabbles, too!
Frack, our flight to Birmingham on Oct. 23rd got cancelled! Never had this happen before! To arrive prior to Hub3 rush hour, we now have to travel via Frankfurt... DOH.
And off to writing... :-)
two birthdays - and Torchwood, of course!

First things first: Happy Birthday, dear
ina ! it's your big day today, and I hope it's loaded with plenty of good things and happenings!
Hehe, and I'm already looking forward to the party you and
koeln will throw soon!!
A belated Happy Birthday wish goes out to
iolandasblog .
Tons of health, happiness and success for the year to come, and may all your wishes come true, for both of you!!
Ah well, it has started... Torchwood's third season, in so-called mini series format, is in full swing!
And jeez, does it swing!!! I have not seen anything alike... it's pace is breathtaking, the story is gorgeous, there are many surprises, and there's also a huuuge lot of good character treatment. That I cherish the most! It's not an action series, it's a series about these people I have come to love during two seasons... okay, with lots of action added. These people, they have grown, they interact beautifully!
If you haven't yet... watch it! I almost want to bet that you'll get hooked by "Day One":-)
More at another date... I still owe you London, and John Barrowman pics, and drooling a bit about "Waiting for Godot", and Gillian Anderson... any spare time left for me, anybody??

Hey,
koeln , it's your birthday!
Have a grand day today, and let me add 1001 good wishes for the year to come...

Oh dear... time IS fleeting, and I haven't done any time-warps recently!
Nor have I sent out birthday wishes to some friends and fellow fans... shame on me!
Alas... today is a good day to do so, because it's
jeherion 's b-day! Hey, you have a great day, and a wonderful year to come!
Tons of health and happiness may also be with the two I missed to congratulate on their respective dates:
chinawolf and
redshirt47 .
And since we all like a good cake as well as a Sahneschnittchen, this is dedicated to you three birthday babes:

Lots of good wishes from
murramarang as well!

Good news is: The Barrowman will play Albin in "La Cage Aux Folles", Sept. 14th to Nov 28th 2009. YEAH!!

Saw the movie! We watched an original language screening at "Metropolis" with
painted_horse and partner. LOVE it!! Hehe, Pine as Shatner's Kirk is even better than Shatner as Shatner's Kirk!!!! Kudos to the casting director... i.e. to the person who saw that much of Kirk in Chris Pine. There most likely was a lip-job, but I don't care. He's good, he's bold, he's hot!
As for Quinto, I have known that he could be young!Spock long before he was actually casted. Sylar has always looked pretty much Vulcan on a bad eyebrow-day:-)
I had goosebumps and tears through the movie, I was laughing my butt off and clenching my partner's hand. This whole event, it was very special to us... we met through Star Trek more than three decades ago, and to see this revival of "our Trek", made for today, yet with truth to the characters, that simpy was overwhelming. Great script, great SFX, great acting!
Though we originally thought we would not be able to make it, due to the fact that our colleague is off to her annual exhibition tour all May, we saw our chance in Pentecoast weekend and bargained one day off on June 2nd. Haha, and we managed to get decent tickets for the last John Barrowman concert, June 1st, Royal Albert Hall, London:-)
Phoned Donmar Warehouse to get tickets for Saturday's "A Doll's House" with Chris Eccleston and Gillian Anderson, but the whole run is sold out. Frack! Since we'll fly in Saturday, we can't be there early to queue for house seats:-/ And there's no performance on Sunday at all... *sighs*. But we'll try Saturday afternoon... so keep your fingers crossed, maybe we'll be lucky!
Sasha, can we meet? Consider this a brunch, or lunch, or dinner invitation:-D

OOps... and sorry to all who have tried to look at the FedCon pics on Photobucket. Yep, this did not work... which I didn't realize, when yesterday I finally got the post sent and rushed to work right afterwards.

You may wonder why I chose dirty!Jack as a mood icon. Nope, for a change it's not because I'm thinking ... thoughts.
It's because I'll be out soon, for some garden work. There's still weeds to be removed in one part, and the upper part is ready for "that early summer face". I'm already looking forward to feeling that thick, rich soil on my hands!

Whenever I wasn't catering for Mrs. Harkness, aka. Mom, on this very Mother's Day, I kept working on the FedCon photos, links, texts... and when everything was done, the LJ cut did not work, pics were missing, and text, too!
I plucked some hair, tried again and again, cursed like a Klingon Admiral, and deleted the whole thing, 'cause it looked like shit and made no sense whatsoever, with half of the stuff just not showing!!!! ARRRGHHH!!!!!!!
Tomorrow or the day after, pherhaps....

OH MY GHOOOD!
Agent Scully will join Doctor Who!!
Well, okay, not quite... but Gillian Anderson, who played Agent Mulder's gorgeous counterpart on The X-Files, apparently is in negotiations to be a villain the Eleventh Doctor must face.
Great news this is! Voilá, here's the source: uk.news.yahoo.com/1/20090423/ten-anderso n-set-for-doctor-who-c60bd6d.html
And since I happen to adore Agent Scully (hi Dana!!), I'd like to add this as well:

Barrowman in make-up, or not, and a bit of life action

So nobody fell for that "Barrowman in make-up" April fools post. Okay, these Torchwood fans are as bright as they are well informed... still, it was fun writing that up:-)
I finally updated my profile... which actually means that I merged things. No more "RL only" and "fans only". Double posting is annoying, and I seem to be less paranoid these days, too. :D
What's been happening, lately:
"Planet of the Dead". I didn't watch it when it was broadcasted, spending a wonderful time with a few friends at J.'s "back home for a month" party. (Does J. have LJ? If so, email, please!!) It was GREAT being there!!!
PotD was... not really good. Something was missing, it wasn't as special as I would have liked that DW-Special to be. Hmph!
A week later, knifes in my brain kept me from celebrating
journal_ist's birthday party. 4th really bad headache. I was contemplating to see the Doc... but since then, no more pain, thus no doctor, either.
The Barrowman had his first "Tonight's the Night" broadcasting, and though I thought it was a bit cheesy, like all these "make your dreams come true shows" are, it was good in a warm human emotional way. Moving, at times. And very entertaining, with two songs performed by ours truly, and a fun challenge, involving footballs and shorts *g*. I think I'll post a few pics at the weekend...
And off to bed!

Work on this project has been pretty secretive, but finally, a first glimpse is possible, due to a photo secretly taken while filming.
John Barrowman, already in heavy makeup to appear younger, is seen here as young Jack Harkness, who has fallen prey to some obscure cult. Young Jack, deeply troubled and instable after the loss of his younger brother Gray, is craving forgiveness as well as punishment in the "Order of Lirpa". The first special is said to be very intense, very emotional!

"Jack Harkness - the Early Years", is the first in a series of five TORCHWOOD Specials which, according to Doctor Who tradition, will air around the holidays, and deal with one hour stand-alone episodes.

My day of birth says it all... of course this is silly, stupid (not to mention MENTAL!), but fun...
Saw this at

Here's the remaining photos of the actors we took at this hilarious convention. Again, most of them were taken by my wonderful partner and fan-in-crime
murramarang .
We might add some costume and general con-mood-pics later on, maybe a few from London as well... we'll see.
