At long last, I decided to combine my personal journal with my fannish one. Some people I share my fandom with have become my friends, or are about to... and my RL friends definitely should know what I'm up to, convention and collection wise.
Several of my likings are listed in "interests".
What you probably should know as well: I do have the bad gene. Otherwise known as "fan bug", this oddity of human behaviour makes me fall for... things... okay, and people,too! Mainly movies or series, their characters, with the occasional actor/singer/entertainer/Barrowman thrown in. This bad gene also makes me collect stuff, like DVDs, CDs, fanvids, pics, books, action figures, props, autographs... in short: almost everything my fannish hands can grab and my wallet agrees with.
Right now, my fan-heart beats for Torchwood and Doctor Who (NewWho), and a little bit for John Barrowman as well. Geez, I wanted to collect some Harkness... and there he was, singing and smiling and joking his bright ego into my heart. He's just too good and too naughty to miss! And last but not least, I admire him for being that wonderfully open, grand looking, gorgeous, out-of-the-closet guy, who can talk about feather boas and sportscars in the same breath.
Jack Harkness of TORCHWOOD was my personal epiphany: omnisexual! Since there still is some lack of aliens on our planet, I dare say that he is the first openly bisexual lead character in a series. Gee, bi like me!!!
I just love to RP him, use him as a vessel to express myself, explore both his and my sides of darkness and light.
I like other series as well, Sci-Fi/Fantasy mainly (once a Trekkie, always a Trekkie:), but also drama shows and movies, all sorts of music and musicals, travelling, cooking-eating-drinking, my little garden, my cats, my partner, my friends...
So here I am, enjoying "Doctor Who" as well as "Torchwood" immensely, collecting all the nice pics and artwork I can find, reading fanfic, letting the muses kiss me, and hoping to find new (and perhaps old:-) friends in my new fandoms.
